Children's Ministries
At Fort McMurray Alliance we believe that the faith journey can begin at the earliest of ages. Through biblically based lessons, the role modeling of teachers, as well as fun and creative classes, we hope to instil a vital and growing faith in Jesus Christ.
We welcome children of all ages to come and worship with us every Sunday. Our program starts at 10:30. Adults and children begin together in the sanctuary to praise and worship our Lord. At approximately 11:00 the children gather at the front for pray and then they go to their classes.
Once the children are dismissed from the service we meet in a large room where we sing our own worship songs. Each year we also put on a Christmas production.
Nursery
Ages 0–2 Years
Our nursery is located downstairs. Babies and young toddlers up to age 2 are welcome before or anytime during worship.
Preschoolers
Ages 2–3 Years
Children age 2 & 3 meet in a bright playful setting to hear stories about God and participate in activities following the “My Great Big God” curriculum. Play is also a big part of their learning. Their room is also located down stairs.
Kindergarden
Ages 4–5 Years
Children age 4 and 5 years old follow the “My Great Big God” curriculum but do more fine motor activities such as puzzle work, crafts etc. They also have more discussions on their level, of course, and play is again incorporated into the program.
Elementary
Grades 1–6
Grades 1-6 follow the curriculum, “God’s People Celebrate”. The classes are divided into grades 1&2, 3&4 and 5&6.
Plan To Protect
We are following the Plan to Protect program. All children up to age 7 have to be signed in and out of their classes. A parent or guardian signs his/her child in taking a numbered tag. When they come to get his/her child he/she is signed out and the tag is returned.
